Established in 1978, WMHCH was founded with the vision of providing high-quality homoeopathic education, leading to the award of the Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) degree. In recognition of its academic excellence, the institution was upgraded to a Postgraduate College in Homoeopathy, offering M.D. (Hom.) programs in five areas of specialization from 2019 onwards. The college also started its research activities the same year enabling both undergraduate (BHMS) and postgraduate (M.D. Hom.). WMHMC&H is affiliated to The Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai and recognized by AYUSH and NCH, New Delhi.

As part of our mission to foster a strong scientific research aptitude among our students, the institution has established a Research Department as per NCH norms. This department serves as regularly organizing CME programs, workshops, seminars, and training programs that encourage innovation and exploration of scientific dimensions within the homoeopathic system. Our core objective is to sensitize and empower undergraduate students, postgraduate scholars with the knowledge and skills needed to engage in diverse research areas including health sciences, veterinary research, agro-care, and more through an integrative and interdisciplinary approach and evidence-based clinical research, drug validation, public health interventions, and community-based studies to strengthen the scientific foundation of homoeopathy.
